With winter nearly upon us, many people here in Pittsburgh are already busy planning their warm weather getaways, a much-needed opportunity to temporarily escape the gray skies, falling snow and cold temperatures. For some, this may simply mean buying plane tickets to visit relatives in a warmer southern destination, while for others it may mean planning a cruise to an exotic location.
A mother of a 7-year old boy recently filed a wrongful death lawsuit in the Pennsylvania courts. The boy drowned in a backyard pool at a daycare center. The boy was apparently with about 20 other children when he died in the deep end of what has been described as a filthy swimming pool.
Wrongful death lawsuits can be particularly heart wrenching, and, unfortunately, many such cases will be dismissed. This recently occurred in a Pennsylvania courthouse when the mother of a deceased boy brought such an action against a multifamily management group after her 3-year old boy drowned at an apartment swimming pool.
