Teens, peer pressure, and drunk driving

We have gone over many of the risks associated with driving, but drunk drivers are especially problematic. Sadly, awareness campaigns and widespread media coverage have failed to prevent many people from getting behind the wheel after drinking. Moreover, there are certain groups which face unique challenges related to drunk driving. For example, younger people may make the poor decision to drive even though they are intoxicated because of peer pressure. Whether you are a teenager or the parent of a young driver, it is important to be aware of these issues. Moreover, teens may be involved in underage drunk driving accidents as passengers who are completely sober.

When a young driver consumes alcohol, they may become very intoxicated and unable to drive safely, even if they have consumed a relatively small amount of alcohol. Sadly, this puts young people and everyone on the road at risk and has resulted in the loss of many innocent lives. If you were struck by a teen who was driving after drinking, it is crucial to go over your options. Legal action may be a necessary response and could help provide you with some of the resources you need to move forward in your life.

Drunk driving crashes keep happening far too often and can be particularly problematic during the summer months, from teen drivers who have a break from school to Fourth of July celebrations. Our drunk driving page offers more information related to driving under the influence and some of the consequences of this behavior.
