Woman scorched during routine liposuction

Pennsylvania residents may be interested in the story of a Bronx mother who was disfigured during cosmetic surgery. According to reports, the doctor who conducted the woman's procedure severely burned her skin. She had to have a skin graft when she went to a hospital to receive treatment for the burns.

During laser liposuction, the procedure that burned the woman, fat cells are burned by a long prong that is inserted into the skin. Many people prefer procedure because it is supposed to offer a faster healing time.

After the surgery, the doctor bandaged the woman and sent her home with pain medication. However, the next day, she informed the doctor that she was experiencing intense pain and swelling in the area where the procedure was performed. He assured her she was not suffering from burns and gave her salve to put on it. A few days later, she passed out from the pain and sought treatment at the medical center. The doctor told her not to go to the hospital, but to come see him instead. When the woman left the hospital and came to his office, the doctor said that the affected area looked better and gave her more cream. The woman then sought a second opinion, and the second doctor immediately sent her to get treatment for the severe burns. Now the woman is seeking compensation for her burns and scars.

Medical malpractice attorneys may be able to help people who are injured under similar circumstances. Those attorneys may be able to help victims receive compensation for medical expenses and pain and suffering.
