Woman critically injured after being hit by school bus

A 71-year-old man driving a small school bus hit and seriously injured a 67-year-old woman. Theaccident occurred at the intersection of Greensburg Pike and Carl Avenue in Forest Hills.

According to police, the man hit the woman and then kept driving. He circled around and drove through the area, saw that he had hit the woman and left the scene a second time. When police first interviewed the suspect, he claimed that he did not hit the woman. Witnesses, who were interviewed by detectives, implicated the suspect. The man is facing several charges, some of them serious.

This woman will face many burdens on her road to recovery. She will likely have many expenses to contend with such as medical bills, lost wages and suffering. If she is disabled, she may need expensive modifications to her home such as ramps, rails and wider door frames. She may also require long term care in a rehabilitation facility or in-home care from visiting nurses. All of these services may be very expensive.

Victims of accidents like this may be entitled to compensation to pay for the expenses incurred from the accident. Compensation can help cover costs such as nursing care, prescription medications, wheelchairs and lost wages. An experienced personal injury attorney may be able to explain the laws related to compensation for victims of a car accident and assist them as they explore their legal options. An attorney may also be able to help victims file a suit for compensation and may be able to represent victims in a court of law.
