Doctor accused of pushing drugs while committing medical errors

A pharmacist with a business in Pennsylvania appears to have been connected to a gynecologist that was accused of filling out prescriptions for an online drug ring. It appears that this involved a culture of deceit as apparently this same doctor was involved in signing prescriptions for other pharmacies as well.

The gynecologist was likely concerned about other things than practicing safe medicine. The doctor had recently been involved in two recent medical malpractice lawsuits. One involved a settlement of $2 million to a dying woman whose uterine cancer this doctor failed to diagnose.

It has been discovered that the gynecologist had been charged with professional misconduct on a number of occasions. For example, he was accused of a surgical error when lacerating a woman's bladder while a hysterectomy was being performed. And on top of this, he has now been arrested for pushing narcotics online.

Though this doctor has paid out more than one settlement to patients, he still allegedly brought in $13 million by providing customers narcotics online. It seems the doctor was both prone to ethical lapses and surgical mistakes.

That doctors like this are still practicing medicine is one of the reasons that so many medical malpractice cases are taking place. Without attorneys taking aggressive action against many of these doctors, the field of medicine would overall suffer because of a few bad doctors in the profession.

Medical malpractice lawsuits bring publicity upon substandard medical care. Often authorities do not deal with these physicians until after a medical malpractice lawsuit is filed.
