Technician who spread Hepatitis C in New Hampshire worked in Pittsburgh in 2008

A hospital technician accused of "serial infections" and spreading hepatitis C in New Hampshire was also employed by UPMC in 2008, according to today's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. The article titled "Man who spread hepatitis was here" reports that the accused technician, Mr. David Kwiatkowski, may have been employed by UPMC Presbyterian for 47 days in 2008. The newspaper points out those as many as 30 patients at UPMC Presbyterian have been diagnosed with the same strain of hepatitis C as Mr. Kwiatkowski. UPMC Presbyterian is currently under intense scrutiny for practices leading to the wrongful spread of hepatitis C among its patients and putting others at risk.
