The firm recently presented a seminar concerning workers' rights under the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Act and the Social Security Act. The attorneys of the firm that participated were John McTiernan, Tim Conboy, David McGowan, Daniel Bricmont, Rhett Cherkin, and Jennifer Modell. The program was sponsored by the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO and the United Way of Allegheny County. Following the program, the firm presented to Hugh "Butch" Burgoon, Sr. a check in the amount of $4,000.00 for United Way. The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO has partnered with the United Way to provide help for unemployed workers. Through the PA AFL-CIO Community Services Program, the local chapter helps in finding assistance for basic needs, such as food, shelter, clothing, medications, classes, as well as other referral programs.
Accepting the check on behalf of the United Way is "Butch" Burgoon. Also shown are some of the individuals who were in attendance representing various labor organizations throughout Western Pennsylvania.
